Qualifying for NEET is not enough to participate in the Maharashtra counseling. There are some additional conditions that make it different from other states. If you want a maharastra government college seat in the state quota (85%), it is mandatory to be a resident of Maharashtra and in most cases, 10th and 12th should also be from Maharashtra. However, this is not necessary for NRI and Management quota seats.

NEET 2025 Maharashtra State Counselling: Step-by-Step Guide

The process of Maharashtra counselling is particularly known for document verification and validation. It starts with online registration on the CET cell website. Documents like Aadhaar card, mobile number, and mark sheets are asked for here. Then comes the document upload and verification stage, which is very important, because without it you cannot do choice filling.

The next step is to fill the preference form where you have to mention your preference of colleges. Based on the document verification and your rank, the merit list is prepared and this decides which seat you can get.
